Where does Steam workshop save files?
Downloaded a TTT map to put on my server, but I can't see to find it. I looked in /maps but there's no .bsp, only other files. Any suggestions?

It saves to addons, in a .gma file, which can be opened automatically in game, or with a converter

i am also having trouble finding the files on my computer. I tried searching for them but that didn't work and i looked in addons, its empty. Also I noticed that the second garrysmod folder was renamed to garrysmod_old, probably part of some update. PLEASE HELP I am trying to move some of my old dupes into my new advanced duplicator but I can't find it...

I figured it out. nobody mentioned that the garrysmod folders were moved from the one named after your steam id to common. Thats all I wanted to know and I found it out on accident.

workshop files can be found in steam/steamapps/workshop/content
you need to find the workshop id of the addons you want to add to your server. the id will be in the workshop url for the specific addon.

if the files aren't in the correct format to host on your server create a new folder on your desktop or wherever doesn't really matter. download a gmad extractor and drag it into the folder.

then in steam/steamapps/common/GarrysMod/bin should be a file called gmad.exe. drag that file into the folder you created. finally drag in the maps you want to convert to .bsp files and run gmad. it should now convert the files to .bsp files. when its done you place the files in your servers map folder and you should be able to run the maps.

hope this helped you out ^-^

lol wth is wrong with all of you.
If it's gmod it's steam/steamapps/common/garrysmod/garrysmod/addons <_ right the freak there. and yes you can read them, use gmad extractor and extract them for editing, use notepad++ to edit lua codes easily.

For me they are not there, and can't seem to find them anywhere on my PC.

Newer mind, I am an idiot, I just needed to start the game for the files to install, then close the game.

Final definitive answer: It could be anywhere between the two locations.
