WTF, Steam?

Well, I go to play the game, but then it says "SteamStartup() failed: SteamStartup(0xf,0x003DE16C) failed with error 1: The registry is in use by another process, timeout expired"

WTF, Steam? Seriously?

I think Garry is too busy ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ Kinect up the ass to actually take note of THIS ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ ERROR.

My computer is safe. I did a scan today (part of my daily virus scan) and my PC is clean as can ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ be.

there are viruses that cannot be detected

If you think your safe

You either screwed up your Garry's Mod Or a program is interfering

Check for recently installed applications and test them in safemode etc.

If you think that is not interfering

Then all thats left is that you screwed it up by changing a setting installing a ♥♥♥♥♥♥ addon
(most of the addons on the workshop don't work and override everything )

I got exactly the same thing earlier, restarted steam and it was gone. No not a virus if everyones getting it just a gmod bug

It's more of a Steam bug. I've got this with CS:S, HL2, etc..
Wish this was fixed

I had this problem myself.

Open up your system config app (Start>Run>msconfig)
Hit selective startup,
Open services,
Click hide all microsoft services,
Click disable all,
Save settings,
Restart computer,
Play game.

If this breaks my computer, I will come to your house and burn your new pairs of pants.
