ESC button not working

I cannot press Esc to open the pause menu, my physical Esc button does function, I'm sure of that, but it just won't work. I even went to change the keyboard control scheme, and when I click edit key and press Esc it doesn't show up, also, I've tried restoring the default contols and the default button for Pause Game is set to "PAUSE" as if there's a PAUSE key on the keyboard. I've also tried setting pause to a different key, like F1, then when I press it, the game literally just freezes...or pauses with no menu. What the hell is going on?

My keyboard isn't the problem. The Esc button works in some other games and on YouTube. My keyboard isn't broken.

well i fixed it lmao, i just rebinded console to f1 and now it magically works

just go to your spawn menu (q) and then press show HUD or close your gmae from desktop
