how do i create a server

i know you press new game then single player and change how many players.do i need to install something to get my server online so other people can join.

When you create a new game and put it for 2 players then that's just creating a local server. Tht means that in order for someone to join they have to be connected to the same wifi as the host, which is the computer that is running the local server.

If you want to make an 'online server' so that no one has to be on the wifi that you're on then you need to do a bucket load of stuff that's kind of complicated. If you'd like to do it that way then I recommend that you look up a tutorial. However, there are websites that host servers for you. What they do is they make the server for you and then they give you access to the console for the server online.
