Server not responding?

me and my friend just wanted to play prop hunt together but whenever I host a game it says the server is not responding for him and when he hosts a game it says I cant connect to his game. Can someone please tell me how to fix this problem??

Are you creating a game within Gmod or you are using a dedicated server?

Within Gmod. It would work when I first got the game earlier this year, but sometime during the summer it stopped working.

I had the same problem. When you create a game within Gmod, the game is is LAN mode. Maybe make a dedicated server.

Sometimes i play with my friends in Gmod, like 3 days ago my server is bugged and i had to use hamachi, so they connect from the classic navegator :P good luck

All you have to do is use this website to open your ports.

http://portforward.com/english/routers/port_forwarding/

Then use the Garrysmod client to choose multiplayer then players, works for me every time.

I have the same issues. I was playing on a server for months and then all of a sudden the other day I could no longer join the server. It just says server is not responding. My friends can join the server still but I cannot. I have no idea what is causing the issue.

Solved=on the start menu not on gmod but on windows tupe cmd and enter and on cmd tupe ipconfig and see the defailt gateway copy the ip address and then go to your google chrome on bar paste your ip address and if ip is locked by password just tupe username:admin password:admin now you entering there is port forward tupe it and create new ports tupe in your ipv4 address and then on ports tupe 27015/27000 if it not greaten tupe 27000/27015 and tupe apply done.
