How do you reset your video settings to the default
basicly what it says

go to launch options for garry's mod. Right click the game in steam and click set launch options. Now do this: -dxlevel 95
This will reset your video settings. However, if you leave this in the launch options, it will keep resetting. To stop that, just remove it once your done.

Actually its not removed, you can find the launch options now in general tab/section in properties:

Library>Garry's Mod>Properties>General>Launch Options (its there, you cant miss it)

I just found it out, i know, this thread is old
