GMod Broken "forever"
Well, after installing a folder into the addons folder (Yes, I did it correctly) and then when I opened the game, "hl2.exe has stopped working, please blah blah blah." So anyways, I tried everything other topics said, "Uninstalling addons, deleting local cache, reinstalling, etc.. So can anyone tell me something else I could try?

worked for me though some addons went wrong..........and couldn't fix it
I like the GMOD Addons, but the conflicts really screws up your game.
Like I download this mod and it conflicts, it conflicted ALL OF MY MODS so I had to redownload them all. (615 Addons to be exact)
I download them from Workshop, Steam browser workshop.
I mean 883 Addons, and my Addons folder is in GMOD/GarrysMod/Addons/Mod

Well I do both, putting the notepad "addon.txt" makes it work.

Hm. Well, if you do delete all the local content, you could just reinstall GMod again because you have already bought it. And since you delete all the local content, that doesn't mean buying it again. PS, I feel you there about your laptop. I have a Windows 8 hp Desktop with 2 GB of RAM. It sucks...

1. Well I tried deleting the local content and then reinstalling, and I know you don't have to buy it again, that'd be a ripoff (btw the the reinstalling part didn't work)
2. The RAM on my computer is ok, but what I meant was, was the Windows 8 part, Windows 8 sucks.

Yeah... I don't even use it. x3 Also, something may be wrong with your download then. Did you try to remove the folders that you put in there before it stopped working?

When I noticed that my game started to keep crashing after I installed that addon, I deleted the addon, but that didn't work, so I deleted all of them, but then that didn't work, realized then that my GMod was broken. Summary: I guess. :P

Maybe there's a hidden file in there or a program is running every time you start your computer that makes GMod unplayable. Start up task manager and look at the programs running. Then tell me what they are.

You can turn mods off in your settings.
