Any possible way to play gmod in splitscreen multiplayer?

Now that I've switched fully to PC, my dad and I don't really have any FPS games that we can play together on the big screen. His favorite was Halo and while I don't need anything similar to Halo, it would be great to have an FPS where the two of us can just shoot at each other in a map of our choosing. We play L4D2 which is a lot of fun with the splitscreen mod, but that's co-op only and doesn't fully satiate what I'm trying to accomplish.

Gmod would be PERFECT for what we want to do. Hell, there's even a Blood Gulch map for Gmod and the endless vehicles, weapons that can be spawned in game would be a blast for him to just have fun goofing off for a couple of hours every once in a while.

As open and moddable that gmod is, there has to be a local splitscreen multiplayer mod for this game, right? There has to be a hack or a console command that I can use to map a couple of controllers to the game and go into splitscreen. In the current PC gaming landscape, Gmod would be perfect for Big Picture mode (of course, you'd have to keep a keyboard nearby, which is no biggy).

Just wondering if anyone has figured out a way to do this yet. I've done Google search to no avail, so I'm hoping there's a way. I hope this is the right place to post this, but since I'm asking for help finding a way to do this, I suppose this forum is better than any of the others. Thanks for hearing me out, guys.

No from what I no you cannot play in split screen but i may be wrong anything is possible there is always a way to do something

Try search around you may find something. Just dont use hacks because it is againts the rules and they are not cool at all

i didnt finish watching the tutorial, but it seems legit, the comments didnt say it was fake, and theres very few dislikes.

Gmod / the source engine in general isnt really meant to do splitscreen, this will be running two separate instances of the game simultaneously, so your computer will need to be strong, and it will also require a controller for player 2 which, from experience, does not work very well with garrysmod, atleast not if you're interested in building.

Well, for what I would use it for, there wouldn't need to be much building. Just shooting, driving vehicles etc.

I was just wondering because the splitscreen mode in Left 4 Dead 2 works perfectly, so I don't see how Source can be all that incompatible with the format.

Some source games are just not fun or playable with controller, if i was you i should look for cheap local multiplayer games. Try gang beasts, it is great fun! :)
