Just to reiterate, I have no clue if anything I wrote actually works in practice, and for me only time will tell.

-According to https://developer.valvesoftware.com/wiki/Command_Line_Options "-heapsize <kilobytes> - Specifies the heapsize (in kilobyte) the game will use. This no longer exists on the Source 2009." Still unsure if it will work or not, as gmod is its own beast but looks unlikely. Worth a try though right.
