I need help.
So my gmod has been crashing. A lot. And yes, I've tried EVERYTHING. Verifying game cache, verifying other games using the Source engine, checking if it's a mod that's causing the problem, I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling, shortening my number of addons, everything.

And yes, my computer is able to run gmod. It can run a lot of games on highest settings.

I want this annoying bug out of my life.

(also, as a side note, i've had this bug happen on two computers)

We need
-specs
-OS
-Number of addons currently
-how does it crash

I don't know my specs, but I definitely know they are enough to run gmod.

I don't know my OS

I currently have 23 pages of addons

It simply freezes. It's always when a sound is playing so you'll get that noise reapeating over and over again. (like what'd happen is tf2 or something when you're lagging)

I'm sorry I don't have much info about it, I don't know much about computers tbh. I do know my specs are pretty good (like i said, definitely enough to run gmod because my old computer that absolutely SUCKED was able to run it and I seriously don't know how to tell you how good my OS is. If anyone could go on with that info or tell me how to see my specs and OS to help you more that'd be great.

-Specs are necessary for this to go smoothly. I will try and explain how to find them once you answer what OS you have.
-OS, windows, mac or linux are the main three kinds that you encounter
-That seems like a bunch of addons if you dont know your specs.
-What are you doing when it freezes?

I'd blame your addon count, they tend to make some pretty bad lag when you mass up tons like that.

Windows. (Windows 10 if that helps)

When it freezes I'm forced to hard reset my computer.

I'm going to go to sleep right now, (bloody timezones) so if I don't reply for a while that'd be why.

I'm awake now. If anyone could continue helping where we left off, that'd be great.

Please, anyone? Just telling me how to see my specs and then helping from there would be amazing.

Okay
Assuming they didnt screw up everything from 7, you can easily find some vital things like processor, system memory and 64/32 bit by right clicking the My Computer folder and selecting properties.then tell us

I actually forgot to say, I just deleted a lot more mods and it worked perfectly... Thank you so much for the help though. I can finally play Gmod!
Audion Aug 3, 2015 @ 11:14am
Okay, so it was the addons. i figured that would be it
sheo Aug 3, 2015 @ 11:15am
Yeah. Thanks again :). I was confused because I had deleted many addons before asking here, and I figured that wasn't the problem.
