Sick of joining servers and having the joining screen using some laggy website full of ads or some ear r*ping cancerous rave/dubstep garbage music. Has anyone found a way to disable them?

Don't join the server. Simple as that.

I just found out how to do this, after starting gmod you can go into console and use "cl_disablehtmlmotd 1"
I don't think it will work on joining screens, though.
So I'm still looking for a way to disable the server loading screens.

The current version for that doesn't work, but I just got the creator to re-do it. Should work now.
Use the garrysmod.7z file and extract in common/garrysmod

Here's another way, which leverages wild cards and so should be more reliable.

1. Install Acrylic DNS Proxy on your Windows PC
http://mayakron.altervista.org/wikibase/show.php?id=AcrylicHome

2. Configure your active Ethernet or Wireless adapter to use 127.0.0.1 for your Primary DNS in your tcp/ip 4 setttings.

3. At the very END of your Acrylic Config File add these entries to your [WhiteExceptionsSection]

NAME1=*.pinion.gg
NAME2=*.pinionprizes.gg
NAME3=*.*.gg
NAME4= *.motdgd.*
NAME5= *.ptp22.*

Some of you *may* not wish to use the total block on the gg domain. My view is there will be nothing legitimate/desirable on a .gg server.

After doing this, the ads will try to display but instead they'll just time out - you will be able to immediately just bypass them (hit Go), and start playing.

Disable add servers via HOSTS file or use ADGUARD and add steam webhelper to filter.

OP's link has 404 and also "cl_disablehtmlmotd" has been removed in latest chromium branch of gmod
