FIXED!: Addons not loading or showing up!
Edit: Guys, this thread is like 5 years old. This doesn't have that great of a chance of working anymore.

So I started having a problem ever since there was a new update to gmod that the stuff I was subscribed to wasn't being installed and wasn't showing up in the game. Not even older stuff that I had had for a long time.

I FOUND A SOLUTION

Make sure you have run gmod once already, including loading a map.

Now make sure you have quit gmod.

In your library, right click on the listing for gmod.

select properties

in the new window, go to the local files tab

click on the button that says verify integrity of game files (it might say something else, but you're looking for the keyword VERIFY)

Let it do its thing and finish downloading any files it might need.

Once it is finished and everything is done downloading, start up gmod

your game should now be mounting and installing addons!

NOTICE! If they keep disappearing, verify it again! Yes, I had to do this myself, but it works!

NOTE! It is perfectly normal for the game to freeze or crash and even crash steam all together while trying to install stuff, especially if you have LOTS of or HUGE addons! Just keep starting it up and just wait until it's finished! Let it take its time!

No need to resubscribe to everything!
No need for a new computer!
No need to reinstall things!

Well, crap. I guess that doesn't work for everyone. It at least worked for me, though. Maybe try restarting your computer? If that doesn't work, then resubscribe to like one item just in case because I had subscribed to some things earlier today.

I'm not too keen on making a youtube video about it. There's not a thing I'm doing different than what I've posted. Plus my channel isn't really for making videos.

I honestly can't think of anything else to do besides reinstalling gmod. Just make sure you've followed all the instructions. Also make sure you are waiting long enough for the mods to even load because it can take a few minutes sitting on the title screen before they load.

I think the only other thing I would suggest is to subscribe to a new thing and then try it all again.
If all else fails, try manually deleting any left over files of gmod after deleting files through steam. Honestly this stuff might be fixed in the next update so it might be best to wait until then if everything isn't working.

And if you're using stuff that wasn't downloaded from the workshop like you went to a different website for the mods, that could cause some issues, too. There could also be some compatability issues with some of your mods. It's best to check everything.

Only new added content/addons/map not work beacuse it saving in workshop folder, not addons
Gmod can't load it, and it's the problem :)
The problem persists for me, when I fire Steam up in offline mode. IE Half of my addons exist - particularly the older, less important stuff & the other, more important stuff (EG Wiremod) aren't there.
