I think the only other thing I would suggest is to subscribe to a new thing and then try it all again.
If all else fails, try manually deleting any left over files of gmod after deleting files through steam. Honestly this stuff might be fixed in the next update so it might be best to wait until then if everything isn't working.
And if you're using stuff that wasn't downloaded from the workshop like you went to a different website for the mods, that could cause some issues, too. There could also be some compatability issues with some of your mods. It's best to check everything.
Gmod can't load it, and it's the problem :)
