CS:GO and L4D2 not working in GMod
So, a long time ago, I was capable of spawning select props from both games into GMod-- And I do just mean Map Props. I don't want Ragdolls to work, or NPCs, or anything advanced, I just want a simple prop. To be specific, I had made a map save that involved using the tall fences from L4D and some of the weapons from CS:GO. Now, as of late, nothing at all appears when I spawn a prop from either game.

Something DOES spawn, but it spawns invisible. I can still delete it, and move it with the physgun, as if it were a normal prop, but it's just invisible-- 100% see through.

So, after about an hour of googling around and looking for information, most forums go like this:
"Help, this is broken!" "Yep, its pretty broken" "Oh, okay." -END TOPIC- and I'm just not satisfied with that. There are people who can practically reprogram a whole game, but no one knows why these things are broken and that's just fine? Does anyone have any sort of clue why a prop using the source engine that shows up naturally in GMod won't appear?

To counter the typical self-serving responses, yes, both games are mounted, yes I tried verifying the games, reinstalling the games (all 3, including GMod) and yes, I legally own thees games. I understand some people can use the props just fine, and I used to, but something changed one day and now I just can't.

Like I said, I just want a prop to work. If nothing else, I'd like the zombie corpse props and the barricades from both games to work, if not also CS:GO's weapons and both game's ragdolls. I know the game can handle these props, that it's not some incompatibility with their being, as I've spawned them before.

Here's to hoping someone has SOMETHING new to say on it.

there is no way to fix this,a map maker needs to fix their problems. The reason they are not working is because they use a different engine then garry's mod, same goes for portal 2.

Who cares? It's not like im no longer around to talk about it. This is more discussion than it's seen since the beginning.

We're not talking about the maps, we're talking about individual props that SOMETIMES work and SOMETIMES don't. It makes sense that they wouldn't or would work with the source engine, but it doesn't make sense that it just switches from one to the other with seemingly no cause. If you can do something to bring the props back then surely one could establish a more reliable means of consistency.

Necroing is against forum rules.

Weird, since the forum rules--
https://support.steampowered.com/kb_article.php?ref=4045-USHJ-3810
-- says absolutely nothing about a time limit to replying to topics (so long as they are on topic)

Ironically, however, it DOES say "No Backseat Moderating", and for both reasons I'll assume you're actually unaware of forum rules.
