the server you are trying to connect to is running an older version of the game

any server i try to play i keep getting the message "The server you;re trying to connect to is running an older version of the game" this is happened ever since i removed all of my plugins because they where lagging my game a lot. I don't know what could have caused this, i cant find there is an update that just came out but I cannot join any other server at all
if anyone could help then it would be greatly appreciated

An update had just been released.
Steam installed it on your computer and servers need to restart in order to get updated too and run the same version.
The only solution is patience.

Fsss i can't join any servers firstly because when i try to join one it says either its running on an old one or that connection failed after 6 retries

THIS GUIDE IS FOR GARRYS MOD, if you know what you are doing you can do it with other source games/ server, too!

First try this:

1. run steamcmd
   
2. type "login anonymous"
   
3. type "app_update 4020 validate"
   
4. type "quit"

NOTE: this is just as an UPDATE!

If this DOES NOT work for you and you get this Error when joining the Game:
"The Server you are trying to connect is running an older Game Version" or anything similar than try this:

1. open the StemCMD folder in your Explorer
   
2. go into the gm folder
   
3. go into the garrysmod folder
   
4. open the steam.inf file
   
5. now open your own garrys mod folder
   
6. for this: open steam > go to Libary > rightclick on Garry's Mod > click on properties > click on local files > click on Browse Local files
   
7. in your own garrysmod Folder open the garrysmod folder > open the Steam.inf File in here, too
   
8. now copy the text in there with Crtl + C or Strg + C
   
9. go into the Steam.inf File you found in your Server Data, when you are in there Paste the copied text! You can do this with Crtl + V or Strg + V
   
10. now save the file for this click on File in the top left corner and click on save
    
11. now restart/start your Server!
    
12. it should work fine now
