not working
Apologies for the bump, but doing Windows+Shift+Right arrow key worked, although my main monitor is a smaller resolution (1330x768) and my second monitor is 1920x1080. When I move gmod to my second monitor it doesn't change the resolution, and there is no option to change the resolution to 1920x1080 in the video settings. Is there a way to get it to change?

Your 2nd monitor needs to be set as your main monitor in settings in order for GMOD to work on the 2nd screen(yes It will switch default displays but only do this if you want garrys mod on another screen! once done switch the main display back It works

Ik this is loke a little old post but if someone still wants this information
1. Set your display mode to "Borderless window"
2. Set the resolution to the second screen one and click apply
3. Use Win+Shift+right (or left) to adjust the game to your second screen
Just change your main disply
