Garry's mod update is stuck at 0% and will not stop validating.

As the title says, I try to play it, but then it updates and says "you have corrupt files" or something. I don't know what else to do.

The reason it's stuck on validating is cause it's downloading the mods that you had before! But it's downloading it from steam not from the game!

Usually when this happens its downloading workshop content, you can try going into view and then downloads and launching it from there.

Having a similar issue. All we can hope for is facepunch releases a patch, witch they probably will soon.

im having the same problem right now and its probably because i was publishing a save to the community so for now i just open the main exe file and run it as administrator

Sometimes i fix this issue by unsub to the recent addon i subscribed to and then sub again, try it and see if it workd

yeah, its doing it for me right now, as the others have indicated it is downloading your older addons from steam. If you have like 1000+ addons it may take a bit to go through, but if you have maybe 100-500 addons it should take a couple hours or even a day. Maybe if your lucky it would already have some or half of your addons downloaded onto steam, and if that's the case you should be fine and just wait. If this doesn't happen it may just be in an infinite loop and could try to clear the cache and try it again. From my experience with this its from downloading a workshop item or something similar while gmod is trying to install or load something and that basically makes it SUPER confused so it just has to reinstall your mods again

Wait a very, very long time. When this is happening, Steam is downloading all of your subscribed addons. It happened to me and I was very confused.

go steam library click on steam at the top settings downloads clear cache
that's what i dad and it worked
