/!\ SourceTV on Gmod /!\
Hello, everyone.
Recently I've been playing gmod a lot and found a great problem it has. While playing on my dedicated server I tried to record a demo with so called SourceTV, which is written to be compatible with gmod on valve wiki. Well, it's actually not. Everytime you do a routine of commands (tv_enable 1; changelevel gm_randlevel; tv_record testdemo) a server crashes. The same happens with a client.

Q&A (everything I found out):
1. Why don't you use command "record testdemo" / integrated gmod demo recording?
A: My playermodel vanishes in demo(replay) and thta's not what I want. Basically you become the camera in a recorded demo.
2. Why don't you try command "record testdemo" on dedicated server?
A: Because I "Can't record on dedicated servers". (that's what a command line answers)
3. Have you tried to turn your addons off?
A: Yes.

I'll tell you more, I tried to record demo by forcing a command "record testdemo" to a bot I spawned with ULX. It didn't work. Maybe it did, because there's nowhere I can find a demo, so I suspect it isn't done that way.

Ok, I think that's enough of what I have found out. Now it's your turn to help me out with this serious problem. Thank you in advance :)

Hm, anyone?

What are you using it for? Wouldn't the moving camera tool do?
I'm using it for recording the gameplay from different points of view. Much like cs match rewatching. How can the camera do the thing if I have to aim and shoot while recording? I think there is no way to do that as you'll be seeing yourself thirdperson and it's very hard to aim while you are in this state.

Hm, i think theres probally some sort of spectator addon somewhere. The ulx spectate might work..
Ulx spectate doesn't have the function I need. It's basicaly the thing that helps you spectate other players or bot-players. As you can see it's not the way out here.
Addon is actually quite a good idea, but is there no way to do that without one? Did the devs have an idea of integrating demo recording from thirdperson? I guess not.
Well I can't seem to find such addon. Any other ideas, anyone?

Is it for a server or machinima?
I guess more for machinima.

Hm, wouldn't someone with a camera do? I also think a complicated wire contraption might do aswell.
Yep. Someone IS the way to do such demos, but I want it to be done only by myself.
Well, wire is too complicated and I don't think there is a way to record video or demo files with it...

What scene are you trying to record? I could help.. Theres also an addon that allows you to make npcs go on a certain track and play animations, etc.

Let's see an example of the video I want. One of them is an RP when a person runs through a dozen of combine shooting them. He has an objective to get somewhere/ kill someone/ steal something/ run away/ etc. I can make it a firstperson shooter, I've done it before. But I want to make it more cinematic, when the camera flies around the scenes. Like free camera moving when the battle is happening. That's what the demo allows you to do after recording, it's like gotv. But facepunch made it so your character vanishes when you replay a demo. I've found out such a thing called sourceTV. It's basically a bot which allows you to do demos from his point of view. But whenever you make this bot and start recording, gmod crashes. That includes dedicated servers.

I'm not sure if this addon will help, but it might help you out..
