Gmod hud and gun sounds are messed. help!

when im in a game my hud at the top where i scroll through my weapons its completely messed, i can still choose my weapons but its really hard. And i cant here my gun shots. i tried deleting gamesound_manafest its called something like that and i tried reloading and reastarting my computer, but nothing works. :( help.

For me,my sounds all got replaced with NeoTokyo sounds(I had copied some of my NT data into the addons folder so I had access to the maps and models in Gmod) and now when I switch weapons or select a model from the menu,it makes the selection sounds from NT.Also,the menu was replaced with that of NT,but with the options for Gmod in it's place. My HUD is also pretty messed up.

This is because you are using pirated CS:s / HL2 Textures

Distributing in-game assets IS illegal. Said assets belong to the developer and only they can distribute them.

You want the CS textures? Buy the game. No other way around.

You still payed for a mod. Before buying it, you were warned about possibly needing other games. Mods require other games to function properly.

Find the content pack you dowloaded in the addons folder, go to scripts and delete anything starting with "game_sounds_" and also delete hudlayout.res or something like that

Hi, I also seem to have this problem. I have tried everything including reinstalling and deleting my files from csscheater.com. The textures and sounds are still broken, any suggestions?

Yeah well...I happen to have broken textures, sound, and HUD because of the update. RIP

Textures should be fine

What you need to do to fix issues with any content packs (css, whatever) is to use the mount.cfg found in GarrysMod/garrysmod/cfg to mount those content packs rather than using the "addons" folder to do it.
