What is the best Editing System for Garry's Mod videos?

I always wondered what was the best editing system to make Garry's Mod vids,
But i got a few strict policies

1. I. Am. Not. Getting. Sony Vegas. EVER. (the reason is because when you try to buy through legal means, the prices are ridiculous, and i'm not gonna crack it due to the risk of me getting a virus)
2. It's gotta be Decent with adding Video clips and using stop motion for Screenshots, plus with added effects

Any suggestions?

Well, I came here to say Sony Vegas but seeing your rules, I will refrain (It is $60 via Steam).

has reviews and several links that might help you including a link to the best free video editors out there. SFM is free but I have no idea if you can edit video with it.
