PDM:Trojan.Win32.Generic found inside hl2.exe
My antivirus for some reason found that hl2.exe has a trojan horse in it. Luckily hl2.exe wasn't deleted, instead it was put in Kaspersky Quarantine. Does anybody know how to get rid of the trojan horse without deleting hl2.exe?

Get a new anti-virus or put it in the exceptions list.

Nope. Other people have had problems with Kaspersky recently and I have no idea what causes it.

Probably, but I have no idea how.

Sadly, no. It's now bought by this stupid "iYogi" company.
Then it deleted HL2.exe.
After some research, the port (PDM) is actually a programming software.

Kapersky gives false positives for gmod

My son has clocked over 3000 hours in gmod and today suddenly out of the blue this keeps comming up

I dont know how he got it ive uninstalled gmod on his pc and currently running a virus check

I think it is a false positive but im not going to take a chance and if I have to I will format his pc (probablly needs a good clean )

If his pc uses kapersky it's a false positive

My internet's working again (finally), and I have 230-250 hours in GMod, and for some reason, I get an alert from Kaspersky saying "a trojan horse has been detected". It didn't say what file the trojan was in, so I ran a disinfection and then the next day, I try running GMod and it gives me a message saying "Failed to launch - (missing executive)". I look in my steamapps common garrysmod to find that hl2.exe was missing. I look everywhere in the forums and found people with the same problem, but with no solutions. I made an older thread about this problem, but nobody responded. Now all I can play is Team Fortress 2 and Undertale.

This is my second laptop (my old one ran on Windows 7, this one was Windows 8 and Windows 8.1, and now Windows 10). This laptop costed around $530-$600. So I honestly don't know what to do.
sry m8. Just reinstall game content and wait for a few years for your addons to redownload.

Cucked noobies. You don't have to reinstall. There is no trojan. It's a false positive. Add it to the exception list . If you deleted your hl2.exe just go to steam right click Garry's mod and go to properties, then local content and verify local files. Then it will fix the issue.

Your probably right. I have never gotten a single virus from Gmod EVER! Just add the [said name] to your blacklist and play on.

I told Kasperkey to Whitelist and restore it out of quaurntine , all is fine with GMod now. Nothing but GMod launches.
