Solution to the Server not responding/Failed to connect after 6 retries bug in GMOD!

So, Today I wanted to play multiplayer with a friend for the first time. And upon clicking join game on his steam profile I was met with a message saying server not responding and clicking join would do nothing. I later found out that joining someones IP by using the command connect (insert IP here). But it didn't work. But I later found a solution that might help you!

SOLUTION: In GMOD try Shift + Tab to open the steam menu in game, then ask your friend to get on the same game and open the ingame menu for steam. They click on your friends name and click Invite. Your friend should receive in invite on his end, and it should be good!

This worked for me and may or may not work for you, just thought I'd help some people out!
