How do I hide/clear my in-game chat history in Gmod?

Sometimes when I make videos with my friends (in Gmod) we use text chat in them and normally, the recording shows texts we made before the video like "Alright, I'm gonna start recording" and it kind of lowers the quality of the video.

Do you guys know how to fix this?

To hide the chat ingame: Open up Garry's mod and press ~ and then type hud_saytext_time 0 . Lemme know if it works :)

It didnt do exactly what I meant an didnt show the chat messages, but thanks for trying.
