Flashligh, Lamps, and Lights Are Not Working

Ok, so I had this game since 2012, and I had never had any problems with the lighting, until the past 5 or 6 months or so. This happens when I put my shadows settings high. The flashlight kinda works, it's just that it's not as bright as it should be. It's more like you can't see it, until you take a closer look at it. The Lamps and Lights however, they don't work! They are not like the flashlight, you don't even see the light! So please, I don't want to keep my shadow settings to low, I want to make decent screenshots, but I can't because of the stupid lightings won't work!

No, it's not the freakin' addons, because I have unsubscribe them so many times, I even went into Gmod's addon folder, and deleted all of that sh*t, and it still doesn't work!

Got the same problem here since recently, but i haven't found a solution yet.

However when you spawn in a certain amount of lights it then suddenly starts working again, but without shadows :(

Have you tried reinstalling/verifying cache yet? Try this addon, the lights are better quality, so if they do work it'll be a win/win.

I have not yet reinstalled it, but i will do so soon. And the lights in the addon don't seem to work either while they used to work a couple of weeks ago.

I have reinstalled the game and verified it's cache but it still doesn't seem to work

I solved it

Just Factory-Reset your Gmod on the Gmod folder and your Lights back to normal :)

If r_shadows is set to 0, then this can occur. Set r_shadows to 1. Unfortunately, that is all I know.

You can try adjusting the effects in the menu that appears when you touch the letter "c". I also had that problem. You can try to activate the reflections and more in that menu so that the lights of the lamps and more work normally again.
