Tried everything (Multiplayer)

since i've baught the game i tried to play multiplayer with my friends. i tryed every stupid ''How to''s on the forum to make it work. I still cant get my friends to either join me or the other way around.

Yes i'm able to, its just for simple multiplayer with friends that i can't play

Did you put it to Multiplayer (4 players) or whatever instead of Single Player? Did you uncheck the LAN box? Are you hosting a dedicated or are you using the in game PTP? Give information.

If you are hosting a dedicated server from SteamCMD and scrds.exe you have to port forward to 27015. Google a tutorial on that.

If you are hosting a listen server (a PTP server, basically just hosting it from in game) make sure LAN is unchecked, and that you have it set to Multiplayer and not Single Player.

--Also, your friends have to connect from Steam by pressing "Join game..." on you when they check the drop down arrow. It should say "Game: Garry's Mod" at the top, and underneath that it should say "Playing Multiplayer" and it should have a Cancel and Join Game button.

im using the 2 player multiplayer function, i unchecked the lan box,, using ptp

i have no access to my rooter so i cannot port forward or anything

yes they have been using the ''join game...'' function from the dropdown menu but every one is gettin the same ''4 tries'' error

The new July update includes Steam P2P support for listen servers. Follow this:

Launch Garrys Mod. Press Start a new game, and then in the green drop-down select what player limit should be on the server. Start the game, and invite your friends to it. If you do not have access to your router and cannot port forward when P2P doesn't work, you cannot host a server without special tools.

ive already tried with hamachi because i use it all the time for other games but i guess i can try again

Use Evolve, its ugly but at least it works every time.
