Is there anyway to actually turn on anti aliasing?

For some reason, whenever I turn on anti aliasing in the options it doesn't actually do anything. Every other source game I've played for the most part does change the visuals except Gmod.

In console, type mat_antialias 2, 4, or 8, depending on which one you want.

I've tried that out, but I see no difference between any of them. Thanks for the attempt, though.

Another thing it could be is the textures you're looking at. If they have a lot going on like window textures or grass, for some reason, antialias doesn't appear to work on those.

It's probably that. I just noticed that only some textures look antialiased and others don't. I'm sure that's the problem; thanks for helping out.
