"Connection failed after six retries". Attempting to join hamachi server with friends.

So I only got Gmod a few days ago and recently me and my friends tried setting up our server for just us using hamachi. Everyone seems to be able to join aside from me. I open up the console and put in "connect <IPv4>" and when attempting to connect to server it comes up with "connection failed after 6 retries". Ive looked up online and in these discussions for help and I havent found anyone with this problem. Im new to this so dont blame me if its a vey obvious fix , but any help or advice would be helpful and appreciated.

Hm, if i told you, you DON'T need hamachi anymore, and you can just set up a server for your friends to join via the main menu, would this work?

(Granted they'll take a while to get in if they don't have the same addons as you)

Thank for the early reply :) If you mean as in a server that only me and my friends can join , how do I go about setting it up?

Very simple my not-so-friend

It's as easy as 1-2-3 (maybe 4-5-6...7-8-9...I don't know, 1 - infinity for all i care!)

1. Go to singleplayer (Trust me on this)
2. Click the green bar in the top right corner that says single player
3. Choose how ever many players you want (it's all in evens, so if you have 2 friends wanting to play, just set it to 4 (because you are counted as a player, don't forget that))
4. Once that's done, click the big blue button that clearly say 'Start Game'

Now wait, because obviously these things take time
And once you're in, you can just get your friends to join in/invite them

Do note, because like i said, if they don't have the same addons (and i mean the exact same), they're gonna take a while to load in, helps a LOT if you disable all the addons and enable the ones you only need

(Oh and incase you wonder if this works, i've done it twice, with 2 different people at different times, it works)

works for me no problem, even with 800-900+ addons, my friends join in about 2-9 mins. also remember if you have something like Evolve or ULX, you will need to set the permissions for the Guest Group, i only know/say this because i had this problem for about 2 hours. if you or your friends dont have those mods then you dont need to worry at all.

IN THE MESSAGES WINDOW OF THE FRIEND YOU WOULD LIKE TO INVITE, YOU PRESS THE SMALL ARROW BESIDE THIER NAME AND INVITE!!!11!!!!1
