GPU Usage Problem!
Hi there, my name is Vincent and today I want to make this discussion asking for help if possible.
So I'm currently achieving a problem that many others have had as well I assume. As my title said, my GPU usage is weirdly low in the game. So lemme demonstrate this, when I play normally, the game reaches 150-300 fps (I disabled V-sync) with the usage jumping unstable around 30-50%. Knowing that Garry's Mod isn't a game that needs much graphics, but the strange part kicks in, which I get down to below and sometimes 30fps when I look at other players. I even tested this in Single Player by spawning like 20 characters and look at them, it drains my FPS as well as my GPU usage gets down to 1%-10%. When I press the menu button, the usage jumps up to 40% with ease. I've tried configurating my in-game settings like changing the resolution to others, turning high and low graphic settings, still nothing really works.
This is my rig:
GTX 960 2GB +180Mhz Core clock and +350Mhz Memory clock (OC)
i5-4460 3.2GHz
8GB DDR3
Windows 10 64 bit
Resolution 1920x1080

I tried many methods to fix it such as bypassing the multicore-rendering which was disabled in the game, it did help boosting the game up by like 20fps but not with the GPU usage.
I tried reinstalling the game, tried reinstalling the drivers, tried scanning viruses, tried changing stuffs in the NVIDIA Control Panel such as changing the power usage plan to prefer maximum performance, etc.
Still it doesn't work. Well actually I've thought about maybe the current latest NVIDIA driver is costing this issue.
I've tested a similar game which is TF2 and it runs perfectly, even when I was staring at a crowd group of player around 40 people, I still get 100fps+ with high GPU usage, unlike Garry's Mod which weirdly drains the usage instead of using more.
Also if you're saying it could be my GTX 960 being screwed up, I don't think so since I bought it for like 2 months ago and also I tested on GTA V, benchmarking which runs very well and it matches perfectly with the CPU, both ran 90-100%.
Well, I'm hoping you guys could help me.
Sincerely, Vincent! :steamhappy:

Well actually I assume it could be due to Windows 10 recent updates which might be the cause.
Anyway I'll keep tracking if there is any change, thank you for your attention.

Have you tried updating your Graphics Card through your computer?

If you haven't, here's the steps I did.

Rightclick "This PC" and select "Properties"--> Device Manager--> Device Adapters--> Right Click "Your Graphics Card Name"--> Update Driver Software...

And click "Search Automatically For Updated Driver Software".

And wait for the Update to download and then Restart when it's all finished.

FINISH.

If you've already done this, then don't mind my comment.
But if it works, you be sure to let me know.

I don't know, I'm pretty sure balanced energy usage causes this. Try making it high performance.
