Half-Life 2 Multiplayer !

So i bought half-life 2 recently , then i wanted to see what would happen if i imported it to gmod , and i found that i can actually play the entire game on gmod and it would work ! .

So , say i hosted a multiplayer server on a half-life 2 map and a friend of mine joined , would it work ?

hl2 is already imported into gmod even if you don't have hl2 installed, you realize that, right?

Yep. It would. Although you'd need hosting software.

There are some gamemodes that are made to fix playing HL2 singleplayer via MP in garrysmod, some of the ents/level transitions need to be fixed via Lua to make it really work.

no you don't Gmod was made Peer 2 Peer so no longer do you need hosting software for a friend to join your game

Gmod should work with hl2, but dont even try with the episodes it sucks

what i did yesterday to play prop hunt with friends is that someone hosted and i right-clicked his name from steam and pressed join game ...... that's it !

The peer-to-peer option is only included in the beta, you must have been using hamachi or something.
