mmmm.... maybe this happens rarely, but... Maybe is a bug. That happened to me a long time ago and i reinstalled Garrys mod as last resort, and my problem was fixed.
Also, sometimes addons can have conflicts with models/materials, try to search if one of your addons is making a problem.
EDIT: So it turns out you have to restart the game each time. This needs more experimentation...
EDIT2: Found the culprit, it's this one:

That's fixed the gnome, haven't tested the rocks yet...
EDIT3: Rock001a is still broken. Can't find anything with that name except the vanilla HL2 rock...
Well, keep searching what addons are corrupting the models/materials, and also try to verify the integrity of cache, not just on gmod, but in all your games... and sorry for not reply you inmediatly, my internet was failing a lot.
