Stuck on frozen loading screen but can hear in game sounds

Hey everyone, I've been having this issue for about a week now. Basically when I try to join two or three servers that I play on everything looks like it loads up fine until I get to either the end of the addons or to sending client info. From there I can hear myself walking around and people talking but I can only see the "sending client info" and I can't do anything else but stare at the loading screen for the server I'm joining. I don't touch my Gmod at all when it loads up I don't Alt+Tab or any of that I just let it be and this continues to keep happening.

I've re-verified my game cache I don't know how many times, I've uninstalled everything and reinstalled everything probably 3-5 times now. I've deleted all of my add ons completely and re-installed them.

My friends and I have been trying to figure this out for the longest time and we have no idea. If you guys know anything or can help me out that would be very much appreciated!

Non of the other methods worked for me.

1. Go-to Steam Library
2. Right Click on "Garry's Mod"
3. Go-to "Properties"
4. Click "SET LAUNCH OPTIONS"
5. Put "-dxlevel 70"
6. Click "Ok", then try to join!

1. Go-to Steam Library
2. Right Click on "Garry's Mod"
3. Go-to "Properties"
4. Click "SET LAUNCH OPTIONS"
5. Put "-dxlevel 70"
6. Click "Ok", then try to join!

Try it, I haven't.

Gave this a shot, From my own experience it didn't work so I just use -dxlevel 98 and Alt Tab whenever connecting to servers and it's my own little temp fix.

same problem it works for like the first 1 or 2 servers i join but anything after that and it just ♥♥♥♥♥ up again. it really gets annoying

Hey buddies, i used to have that problem too, it has to do with dynamic shadows (well in my case it did) like lamps, flashlights, etc. All you have to do, is set r_flashlightdepthres on the console to 3000 or less, or you can also completely disable the dynamic shadows with r_flashlightdepthtexture 0 on the console

^ and no it doesn't require dxlevel on 70, just set it to 90 again

The same thing happens to me, it could also haave something to do with the graphics...
