This is Garry's Mod, that's not an option I'm sorry to say lol
It's not a graphics problem. It still lowers the framerate as I subscribe to more and more addons regardless of the graphics settings.
Since decreasing graphics quality didn't help, you need more processing power.
To fix that, you can:
Check in task manager any applications that are using too much CPU, and shutting them down.
Disable some of those addons. Good christ.
Get a better processor.
Changing your mat_dxlevel could possibly help too, but not without severe graphical or stability consequences.
Well as I said in the thread, the game runs perfectly fine at 60 fps with roughly three or so pages of addons. It only slows down when I subscribe to more and more addons. That couldn't possibly have anything to do with my GPU or CPU.
Steam Workshop =/= Toybox
I don't subscribe to them while in game lol
Well that's a very odd thing, indeed. It's not as if the game actively physically renders the addons in game at all times, they're just sitting in the backlog waiting to be used. Have no idea why it would slow the game down.
That's how it works. You can't expect to be able to have half of the workshop's addons downloaded without slowing down. You can handle three pages of addons because it's your computer's limit, any more than that and you're getting natural performance issues.
From what I know, addons that change graphics are the one that cause the biggest slowdowns, such as LifeMod, those 'ultra-realistic shaders' or lens flare and other thingamabobbers of the sort.
RAM is also something that can be looked into.
Ah, okay i gotcha.
