Gmod taking up large amounts of space?
Uninstalled Gmod because I have a small HDD, and it is still taking up nearly 9GB, I checked in the folders, and it is spread through my addons folder, downloads folder, and download folder. In the downloads folder, the folder named server, can I just delete everything in there? What exactly can I do to remedy this situation?

EDIT: I don't need anymore help, so.... Yeah

Well, everytime you download an addon the file stays in the addon file. The way to get rid of this unwanted space is to go to(in order):
Click on computer
Under computer There is OS(C:)
Click program files (x86)
Click Steam
Click SteamApps
Click common
Click GarrysMod

There should an addons folder, and once you find the addons you don't want, just delete them. Might take a while though...
But what about the things downloaded from servers? In the server folder? Can I just delete those too?
They should also be in the addons folder, and yes you can delete them.

If you are uninstalling GMod for a while your best bet is to delete everything in the garrysmod folder. Nothing bad will happen if you do.

yeah, that's what I ended up doing, I realized that's what I just should have done in the first place. Thanks anyway though!

9 GB? Girl, please. 20 GB for me. Well, looks like I'm sticking to LAN/Friend servers...

41 Gbs, how many addons?
Global Aug 20, 2014 @ 3:34pm
Not addons, no. I'm only subbed to 3 pages worth, mostly lua.
Most of the memory comes from downloads on other servers. I've yet to reinstall my GMod, so I get to keep everything that it has downloaded over my years playing GMod (roughly 3 years)

I am subbed to 8 pages, still nowhere close to your gb count in it. How many servers have you been on, a thousand?

Decided to look into my gmod addons and server content.
15.3 gigs downloaded just from custom files on servers
14.3 gigs downloaded just from addons
29.6 combined value from those

34.4 gbs is my gmod file. Wow.

Still less than my BF4 file which only has official stuff+dlcs

Do at least SOME things work?

Click the game controller in the bottom right of the main menu, and check as many as you can.
If you aren't going to buy HL2, the episodes, or Counter Strike, at least have TF2 installed so you can mount that.

What I did was I redownloaded HL2 and all that, and deleted everything except for texture files, bringing 10 GB total to around 5 GB total.
