X button/speak button won't work
Whenever I try to press the X button to talk my game just freezes for 30 seconds and then goes back to normal. It's so annoying to not be able to talk in game. I tried to change the button I used to speak, reinstalling Garry's Mod, reinstalling Steam, doing a fresh install of Windows. Everything on my computer is up to date. I see no reason why this could be happening and it's been going on for months now. Someone pleaseeeee tell me how to fix it or at least give me recomendations on what to do.

Make sure no other buttons in your config are using the button you are using for PTT (push to talk)
If you this doesn't work, make sure programs like fraps are not set to take photos or record video while pressing this key. :sticky:

Nope X button is PTT and that's it and I have nothing else running that uses the X button

Change your button to something else.
When changing it, make sure it's not used by anything else.

Yeah I tried that but I just get the same thing

Didnt work. I tried yesterday to defrag everything and I keep getting the same thing :/

Make sure your mic is the default mic in your sound options in Windows.

Yup it is. And what's weird is my mic is fine for teamspeak and skype and anything else but only for gmod i have this issue

Make sure everything else in your recording tab in the sound option is disabled?
