how do i change the screen's resolutions?
so, i just installed gmod, but when i try to run it, the resolution is too low, and it only occupies half of my screen, so i changed it to 1260 something

apparently, my monitor doesn't have that much resolution so it doesn't view anything, i had the same problem in the past with other games, but i usually solve it by clicking on the shortcut, getting to properties > compatability tab > run in 600 x 400 resolutions

but this shortcut doesn't have any compatability tab, please help

Yes, absolutely. Right click on Gmod > Properties > Set launch options

Once you're there, type in "-h 600" and "-w 800"

In the above example, that would set the screen resolution to 800x600, so change that however you see fit.

We have had several issues with our display and with steam and origin we set the launch options to open in a window, and then added the above referenced resolutions (right click on Gmod in library, select properties)

try
-window -w 1200 -h 600

substitute the values you want. See if the -window option in addition to the resolution helps? HTH it's the only thing I can think of from our display malfunctions/ Good luck

You're mixing your height and width up. Width ↔️ (-w 1920), Height ↕️ (-h 1080). It's just simple math, 1080 is nearly half of 1920, your monitor is quite clearly nearly double in length than in height.
