Abysmal Performance on a High-Spec Machine
Ever since throwing together a new PC build, my GMod framerate has tanked considerably. My PC is pretty powerful, so this of course came as a bit of a surprise to me.

Using MSI Afterburner, I was able to figure out why - GMod only ever uses a single CPU core at a time, and is refusing to use above 10% of my GPU's power, mostly sitting at a crummy 1%.

Can anyone offer any tips / cfg commands to get GMod to use more of my machine's power? Thanks.

My specs are:
GEFORCE RTX 3090
Ryzen 7 5800x
32GB DDR4
Running GMod off an M2 SSD.

Please try enabling Multicore Rendering, I found a guide for you:

I already have this in my CFG, among other commands. Using MSI Afterburner, I also found that GMod is technically using multiple cores, but not at the same time. It randomly switches between cores every five seconds or so, putting them at 100% usage when active.

Also, Afterburner is telling me that I'm hitting 70+ FPS despite it feeling terrible, so there must be an unholy amount of microstuttering going on.

Such an awesomely developed game!
