gm_construct missing ambience
I had this problem for a very long time. Whenever I load gm_construct, there is no ambience. No birds singing, no wind blowing. It's dead silence. No, it's not a creepypasta. It's a real problem. It's not comfortable to me to play with no ambient sounds because it's not the same. How could you fix that?

Please type "stopsound" in your console and restart the map, afterwards try again.

Please disable all your addons and try again, you can do this immediately in the addon menu in the main menu, this is probably the reason. Afterwards type "retry" in your console and try again.

Please verify the integrity of the game files of both Gmod and every game mounted (game must be closed).
Also, does this persist with other maps? Do you still hear other sounds?

I did it many times and I even deleted everything in GMod folder and then verified the integrity of the game files, but I didn't do that to every game mounted. I'll do both steps then;
This does not persist with other maps. I can still hear other sounds and the ambience on other maps, everything is ok and in order, but gm_construct's ambience is just missing for me.

That is very odd... if it doesn't fix then maybe you can download the same map through the workshop? I'll try looking for an exact replica and I'll link it here.

While I am verifying the integrity of game files, I can add that I had Extended Spawnmenu addon installed. With this mod, I could browse game sounds and I could even find the ambience sound of gm_construct called "forest_day.wav". I could play it and it looped, but I just didn't want to play it everytime by myself. But when I tried to search this sound on my pc, I couldn't find it because the sound folder was empty.

It might be missing from HL2, verifying will probably fix it.

Good news: it's working! Finally! I've just verified the integrity of GMod, Team Fortress 2 (+Half-Life 2/ HL2 Episode 1 to be sure), disabled all addons I had, removed CS:S and HL2: Episode 2 content from my "addons" folder and unmounted all games (it's basically vanilla gmod). Thank you! Every single sound on gm_construct is there. Now I am gonna mount everything again and see if it causes the problem again and figure the reason out.

I found the reason: the problem is caused by HL2: Episode 2 content I had in my "addons" folder. The discussion is now officially over!
Conclusion: don't download crappy content packs from the internet and you'll be fine.
