How do you fix Shadows?
For some reason, the shadows are really fuzzy with a sort of "gradient effect". The edge of the shadow is super fuzzy and then as it goes deeper into the shadow the fuzziness gets denser.

How do you fix this and have shadows to be straight?

r_projectedtexture_filter
This command will allow you to sharpen your shadows and get what you're looking for.
You can also follow this guide: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2131995743&searchtext=shadows

I followed these instructions and viewed absolutely no change. It did not work. But I do appreciate the help.

Could you possibly send a screenshot of the problem?

I do not know how to share a screenshot here, I don't see any "share photo" or anything like that here.. unless I'm super blind.
My latest screenshots I uploaded (2) show the problem, You can look there. But I must warn you, my profile is SUPER WEIRD :p

It seems more like a problem with the surfaces you're trying to show a shadow in.
Please cast a shadow on a wall and see if it persists.
Also, yeah your profile is very crazy!

I uploaded 2 new screenshots.
What I observed is that it seems like the shadows are correct when being casted onto "naturally placed props", props that are originally apart of the map and cannot be moved with the physgun, etc. But the same prop can be spawned by the player. But when a shadow is being casted onto, say a wall of a building, the shadows are all fuzzy and imperfect.

Try these two commands:
r_projectedtexture_filter 0.1 or 0.2 will make the shadow sharpen.
r_flashlightdepthres 4096 goes in your launch options
Using these options in-game, in a map may cause an instant crash. If you type them in the main menu you should be fine.

YES! THE SHADOWS ARE FIXED! :D
The problem was that when I inputted the command for projectedtexture_filter while I was in a map, I expected the shadows to immediately update but they didn't. I did not realize I had to reload the map.
THE BIG MAIN PROBLEM was that I misspelled "r_projectedtexture_filter 0.1" in the autoexe file thingy so the shadow quality never saved.
I deeply apologize for having us go back and forth about this issue when I had everything right, I just made an error and believed I was correct and it took me so long to find that mistake.
However, I am very grateful and fully appreciate your help and effort in helping me solve this issue. I wish you good luck and good karma. :) <3

I cast NECROMUNDUS on this thread to say that I have been suffering the fuzzy shadows for YEARS. Never knowing what the issue is. To the couple of you lads, THANK YOU for your comments to another stranger in need. Cheers.
