Annoying Backround Sound That Won't Stop
Whenever I join a specific server I get a neverending sound, which is static and what seems to be a woman talking through a rather terrible radio. I have tried stop sound and it does not work, it only stops the sound for a few seconds. I have tried reinstalling gmod, disabling my addons, uninstalling my addons, and restarting my pc, none of which has worked. This problem only seems to happen on the specific server and no one else on the server has the problem. If I go onto the same exact map in single player I don't hear it so I am certain it has to do with the server. Help please. (Stop sound only stops the sound for a few seconds)

Try doing snd_restart in console.

I tried this and the sound started back up again. I have found out that it's the map itself that causes me to hear this, if I join any server that is on flatgrass construct V6 I hear this and no one else does. I still don't know how to fix it though

Try typing in console

- stopsound
- stopsounds
- stopsoundscape
- snd_restart
- ent_remove_all ambient_generic
- cl_customsounds "0"
- cl_soundemitter_flush

You could also try and debug the sound yourself.
- snd_show "0" // Show sounds info
- snd_visualize "0" // Show sounds location in world
- soundlist // Shows a list of sounds.

If none of the following work, remove the game and addons, then type cl_downloadfilter "0" to remove the download of sounds from a server.

Sadly I don't have access to sv_cheats since I'm just a member

I've found out (for me at least) that it's linked to downloading content for games instead of buying them to avoid seeing errors, I don't know which game it is but it causes me to hear the constant ambient sound in some maps.

If you ever downloaded game content to stop seeing errors, (i.e. off of cs cheater to remove errors), try removing some of the games from Gmod. One of them adds the sound I'm pretty sure, or at least in my scenario.

What was the exact source of this problem? I got it as well, I see its from downloaded content, but which game is it from?

I'm not entirely sure which, but it seemed to be from one of the Counter Strike games, could be wrong.

I have the same issue, however I haven't downloaded any content from the internet, all my games are mounted. How do I fix?

I had the same issue with the sound you are describing, random screeching noises and random radio chatter that doesn’t even sound English, I deleted my day of defeat add ons and this fixed it
