RCON password

I'm starting a server and I don't know what the RCON password does. Is it for commands, addons, etc?

Go to your Gmod root folder and go to the "download" folder. Then CFG and open the server.cfg file. Search for the variable "rcon_password", copy it and go in-game. In the console type "rcon_password" plus the password you copied and then boom, you have RCON access!

if you set your password you can use it as a emergency set rank incase you setyourself as a lower rank and cant add yourself back you would open console and type "rcon_password 1234"
rcon ulx adduser "name" superadmin

Why didn't you just make a post about this? Your root folder of GMod can't be accessed with some hosts, the root folder is the folder before 'garrysmod' and you'll see "bin", "garrysmod", "lua", "platform, "sourceengine", "steam_cache", "steamapps" and your your SRCDS itself.

An RCON Password is used to allow commands to be run through the console. The password can be used also by donation systems to run commands. RCON is pretty much complete control of your server, so make sure you make it VERY secure!
