Garry's Mod won't start. Steam issue?

I noticed this problem yesterday at evening. I'm pressing ''Play'' button on Steam but it just doesn't launch. No pop-ups or anything. Really weird. I tried start the game by launching it in different ways but that doesn't seem to help. Any ideas how I could fix it and why I am suffering this bug/glitch?

Had this pop-up once I tried launching Garry's Mod from a folder. I tried everything it told me to do but still had the problem on.

I remember trying it but the button was greyed out. I tried reinstalling it but once I deleted it I can't find it in my steam library... >.> It's just now doesn't exist in my Steam library even though once I go to Store page it says I have it

I always be having to restart my computer computer when that ♥♥♥♥ happens it's ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ annoying same with steam it won't open either!!

You might need to use task manager and close the Steam if you can't open it. For some reason it sometimes bugs out and there are some sort of invisible Steam program running that you can't really do anything with it. Once you close it you should be able to acces Steam normally.

Have the same problem, either doesn't launch or the Engine Error window appears saying that there's no steam user found.. Any fixes so far?

Well I don't remember exactly how I got rid of my error, but I think it had something to do with a user I had shared this game. Do you perhaps not fully own this game or share it to someone else? Did you tried doing everything what was said on my picture? That might help.

I don't share my game neither my steam account with a friend or another PC. I fully own the game. And I've tried all of that except deleting my local files, cause I have a lot of addons that I need and I don't want to reinstall the whole game including download all those addons again, and I found some discussions about this problem online saying that people even tho they reinstalled the game they still have the problem and that's another reason that I don't want to reinstall the game.. Anyways, thanks for the reply, and if you find out exactly what fixed it I'll be thankful if you could share the information. Thanks again!

With my problem the only option was to uninstall the whole game like delete all files that are left after uninstalling from the steam folder and installing the game all over again since nothing else worked. You could verify game integrity or idk restart steam, restart you pc and if that doesn't work I'm guessing that you'll have to do the same thing as me.. Oh and also go to task manager and make sure the game is not running in the background before launching it.

What happens with me is that It comes up start but then it will be blank screen blue like I've lost signal to my PC but i can go back to desktop

I can't help there, I will suggest you ask reddit for help, people there are amazing and they always try to help you, just make a thread under the right section and you're good. Far better than wasting 3 days like me with my IRQL_not_Less_Or_Equal problem.

Try to play the game on windowed mode, I think that has helped me with some games in certain situations.

And to launch it in windowed mode you'll etheir have to use some launch options if they exist, change the resolution and stuff from the registry (which I would not suggest if you have no experience in working in the registry cause you can demage your rig badly) or simply see if you can change it from the config located somewhere in the game files.

I think you can just create a shortcut for Gmod (or just go to the original Gmod starting file I suppose) and then you can toggle an option what resolution you want and if you want it windowed. I hope my memory doesn't fail.
