Face Poser likes compiling sliders into a face of nightmares
I've had this problem for a while, so I'm pretty much used to it. But I think now is the time to get rid of it.
The glitch first appeared when I was face posing an anime character ragdoll. What it does is that when you're face posing, some flex sliders don't do anything. But there's always one slider that contains all the unavailable sliders. Using that slider, of course, creates a nightmarish face.

When I start up GMod and head straight to sandbox, the glitch doesn't appear. It seems it only happens the more hours I spend on the game. So every time I encounter this problem, I have to restart the game.

Am I the only one that has this bug? What do I do?

as a person who's encountered the same problem, I can't say I've found a solution yet. what I can suggest, however, is a workaround. you can try making a pose (with the use of a face poser) and then either create a save, or save the posed ragdoll with the duplicator. I'm not sure about the latter, but the former works 100%

also, some of the tool-based addons, as well as mad cow's weapons are known to mess face poser

This bug is related to the model file itself, wherein the modder did not include proper syntax in the QC files, or ♥♥♥♥♥♥ up their shape keys. Ultimately there's not much you can do besides shout at the addon developer for not doing an adequate job.

let's not forget that the bug may be carried over to any other ragdoll (even non-anime ragdolls) that has different facial flexes than any hl2

welp. redownloading workshop files and complete reinstalling of the game didn't do anything to solve this matter. either use advanced bone tool for face posing (IF there are bones for face posing), or speak with the support of the game and pray for a fix in the following patch. I ran into this thing when I was testing out non-workshop addons and at first I thought they were the culprit (or at least one of them). after cleaning them out, the issue persisted, so I suspect something happened with the game itself (please note that I've already mentioned that even non-anime ragdolls but the original hl2 are also affected by this issue)

Late to the party but yeah. I have some non-workshop ragdolls that aren't workign, but all the HL2 and TF2 and the ones I have from the workshop (which are all TF2 related) work just fine. I didn't notice anything concerning my playtime, and I know the models aren't workign right from presents I have of them. I couldn't imagine which of my mods, if any are doing this. It sucks.

Update: I checked an anime model I had from the Workshop and it didn't work. I started the game up anew, on the same map, and checked some models that hadn't worked before, including the aforementioned anime one, and they all worked. This is an interesting bug.
