"Disconnect: (name) timed out"
When I try to connect to a server, it kicks me out while loading in and it says "Disconnect: .Coluhrs. timed out".
I don't know how to fix this, please help me.

Open up CMD on Windows and type
ping 8.8.8.8 -n 5000

Join a GMod server, when it disconnects you for that timeout reason, go to your CMD and hold Ctrl and then press C to stop pinging.

Paste the results back please

Well if you're timing out, it's to see if you're having packet loss. Timing out is when you aren't sending/recieving packets to/from the host.

That looks fine to me, I can tell you're probably using wifi instead of an ethernet due to the ping spikes. That wouldn't cause the time outs, what's the ping to the servers that you're trying to connect to? Does it happen to all servers? How long has this been going on?

My ping is fine when connecting to the server, it only happens on this server which I really need to be active on, it has been going on for almost 2 weeks.

Do you know the server's IP?

Try CMD again and ping SERVERIP -n 100

Try to connect again, see if you time out to that server's entire network. Paste results please, 8.8.8.8 is Google DNS, the reason we're doing the server's IP is to see your status to the server's network itself instead of just your general network.

That's the problem, try using a VPN if you've got one to see if you can connect. We'll work off of that. If you're able to connect it could be your IP is restricted from the firewall for some reason.

How do I get a VPN?

How do I get a VPN?

There's free ones online, or I can send you one I host. It's a download, but a quick 'decent' free VPN is Hotspot Shield.

I have this problem, I thought you should change your port(port forwarding duhh) to the port that the server has, it didn't worked. But someone told me to use VPN, I never tried it yet tho.

Maybe it was me, I tell people to try VPNs because often for whatever reason their specific IP or /24 ip block are blocked for whatever reason by some hosts

Also port forwarding won’t work, that’s only for inbound traffic

so what does work? also someone told me to disable all the mods and join a server, they said the mods that the server needed will be automatically enabled, so this will prevent you from taking so long in the loading screen, cuz what I think is maybe it will show the error because you've spent so much time in the loading screen.

" cuz what I think is maybe it will show the error because you've spent so much time in the loading screen." Nope, source doesn't drop a connection if it's been downloading."

A VPN will most likely 'bandage' this problem.
