Friends can't be invited to or join my game even though it is peer to peer
Before the february update i could invite friends to join my game if it was on peer to peer and more than 2 players. Now when i have the same settings it won't let me invite them and it won't let them join me. This is really annoying PLS HELP

Try joining/inviting them though the overlay instead of the friends window/panel thing. That is, try though the panel on the overlay that shows friends currently playing the game. This is a crappy description, but do you understand?

it still doesn't work. When i invite them though the windows panel on the overlay it doesn't show that i sent them an invite. The join game button also doesn't work

You might try in console connect (host ip address without ()'s)

That leads to believe it's either something corrupt on your client or your firewall settings, let's try a few basic breadboarding techniques:

Try verifying integrity of game cache by going to your Library -> Right click GMod -> Properties -> Local Files -> Verify Integrity of Game Cache.

If that doesn't work after inviting your friends, try going back to the GMod properties and click Set Launch Options and type: -noworkshop

If that still doesn't work, go to your Windows firewall and disable all 3 domains temporarily and invite them. If it works then re-enable your Windows firewall and we can work from there.

I've tried verifying integrity of game cache, it said 7 files were missing and it re-downloaded them. I started the game up and it still wouldn't let me invite my friend. I then tried the -noworkshop command but it still didn't work. I then disabled all 3 domains on my firewall like it said in the link you sent and it still didn't work.

That's bizarre, have you tried completely reinstalling GMod? Like even going to the steamapps common folder and deleting it there too & making sure it's uninstalled via the Steam library too?

@__Peaceful__ did you manage to fix this issue?
Shroom Jan 3, 2021 @ 1:53pm
Enter in console:

p2p_enabled 1

The host and everyone joining, enter that in console. Because I assume everyone involved needs it.

Fyi, this disables it again, but isn't necessary to turn it off:
p2p_enabled 0

Hope that solves this finally.
