weird message in gmod

i was playing gmod and for some reason there was this message than could not close. i dont know if it is a virus but the title said ignore this :) and was on adfly. i dont know what it is.

I've been having this exact same issue whenever I loaded up Garry's Mod on a singleplayer server. The big issue is that it constantly pops up after a certain interval and without a method of closing it it makes the game quite unplayable.

I believe that it's from an addon but due to the sheer volume of them I have there is no effective means about finding out which addon it is.

Doge could you list any addons you recently installed and maybe we could figure out if we share any.

i disabled all the addons that i recently installed and the same message popped up. what addons do you have that you think is causing it?

Just noticed that the adfly thing changed from a legitimate ad to that error message, usually it was some generic advertisement. Whenever following the adfly link it always lead me to the Roblox website.

Heyo, guy who was playing with Floofball here. I've deleted and refreshed all my gmod mods and I still get the adfly thingy.

If it's any help to anybody, these are the collections I've used over playing gmod, and is every mod I've used.
Floofball should have the same mods in common with me right now, which is the first collection link.

Have you uninstalled all your add-ons, then tried to see what happens?

it was all white and underneath was a cryptocurrency ad
It only appears in a map i got called: gm_buildersworld

I have gotten the "Just ignore this" message, but it's just in the console, on gm_arctic. The game is still playable though. Not really a problem for me

You probably have a virus on your computer, This can be caused by installing malicious adons or installing malicious programs.

to fix it, Uninstall your game, unsubscribe to every addon from gmod, run a virus scan (if you don't have one, i'd recommend getting eset) and finally reinstall the game.

if the problem still persists, quote my post and i will try to help you as much as i can.

Uninstall your game, unsubscribe to every addon from gmod, run a virus scan (if you don't have one, i'd recommend getting eset) and finally reinstall the game, start a singleplayer server and see if you get the same thing again. if no you're good.

This is a good and easy to understand list to follow and will fix most problems, it'd help us nail down the problem if OP would tell us what's wrong.

Did a factory reset of Gmod and removed all my Gmod mods, which has seemed to remove the problem.
