Fix Cubemaps?
How do I fix fix the cubemaps from being blinding white? Is there a way that doesn't involve Life Mod?

If you want to build reflections, type in "sv_cheats 1", then "buildingcubemaps" to get rid of hdr bloom, and then "buildcubemaps". Remember, the map must have cubemaps for this to work, and it must be YOUR map for it to work.
Otherwise, type in "mat_specular 0", which disables reflections.

It already sits at zero... Anyways, I'm not making maps, though I wish I had the knowhow... Does anyone else know of any methods?

I need that answer too, though I want to use it for gmall, so the reflections don't go away, but I won't see black and purple everywhere.

That's amazing. There's barely any information on "building_cubemaps", so thanks for sharing, I just blindly use it with mat_specular and then mat_reloadallmaterials to ensure all materials are reloaded so I don't have to changelevel or disconnect and its time to build cubemaps and bake them in.

I hope this helped someone who didn't find the info clear enough above.

And for all those scripters, I bet. Make something automated for us mappers!

idk if its just my computer but this is taking absolutely forever for some reason it says not responding and its stuck at loading resources its been an hour

Never heard of that. Def your PC. GMod reloads materials after building cubemaps
