my voice chat is broken so i cant talk in game when i try changing my x to something it writes 'userconfig.cfg' not present; not executing.

in the console. I dont have config.cfg and verifying my game cache doesnt do anything.

try uninstalling your game and reinstalling. You could also copy and paste the CFG from somewhere else, if needed. Just make sure you make the file a .cfg one. userconfig.cfg is a important file, so it not existing is quite catastrophic in the first placem but easily fixable.

if nothing else works, right click gmod in steam and click properties. click on local files, then click on browse local files. then click on factory reset gmod, and that will reset gmod to normal

I saw your topic before I reached a solution in another topic: https://steamcommunity.com/app/730/discussions/0/1696048245841989228/ . I came back to give you a possible solution. Use this link to access the thread. Basically one user in that thread recommended that if you are on windows 10 (1803) you need to enable your microphone in privacy settings.

You can find your windows version by typing: winver in the startmenu search.

The microphone privacy settings can be found in settings and to the left upper hand corner there should be a find a setting search bar. In that bar, start typing microphone and it should say microphone privacy settings, select it. If access to mic is off, you want to turn that back on and this should fix the problem. Let me know what happens! :)
