How to change player speed?

Hi all

I want to know if it is possible to change the player speed.
For example i want the speed for when you hold the walk button to decrease even more.
There was a mod for this once on the workshop called "simple player speed changer" but it has bin removed from the workshop for some reason.

Now i'm asking if there is another way to change it (console, changing txt file).

i did see something on the internet saying that you can change these 2 lines:

player:SetWalkSpeed( *NUMBER* )
player:SetRunSpeed( *NUMBER* )

but i have no clue where to find that or where to type that...

You make a lua file in your lua folder and type that. Then you go in game and type lua_openscript (filename.lua) in console.

actually i just figured it out.
i found some sort of a lua config file located here

Steam\steamapps\common\GarrysMod\garrysmod\gamemodes\sandbox\gamemode\player_class

I opened it with notepad and boom there i found the SetWalkSpeed and the SetRunSpeed

i changed the values to something lower and there we go, i'm able to walk slower yippiee

Would this effect your hosted servers though? Like, local servers you use to play with friends every now and then? I was using the Simple Player Speed Changer 2.0 but again it was removed even though it was perfect and had zero issues.

Try using +speed command on the console. It has worked for me!
