Unable to connect to certain servers.
I was playing with my friend on a certain server, and it was working fine. The next day, I wasn't able to see the server on the server browser. I was able to see a lot of other servers, but none of the ones I played on. So I tried to join via invite, and it says the server is not responding. So I go to the legacy browser and go to favorites, but all I see is a bunch of IP addresses. I tried joining one of them, but it didn't respond. This is really annoying, and I haven't been able to play Gmod for 3 weeks now, but my friend can join them just fine.

I've tried verifying the cache, but it doesn't work. I tried opening up the default Gmod ports by port-forwarding, and that didn't work either. Uninstalling and reinstalling doesn't work either, and letting it through the firewall does nothing.

Thanks.

Edit: Every server in my favorites are now listed as their IP address, and I time out when I join them. The friend that is able to join the servers is just down the street from me, so location is not an issue.

Same here. Haven't tried verifying the cache, though. I'll try that.

Usually means the sever is shutdown or moved to another IP.

I've had that issue before around a year ago, I never found a fix. Check your ping, if it's failing to connect to the server then it's your internet possibly. Just assuming though, trail and error.

Typically means something is blocking Garry's Mod from connecting to Steam, possibly Firewall is blocking it or something else is(anti virus, etc).

Verifying Gmod didn't help. I'll try to detail what I'm getting:

When I go to the server list, the server that I'm trying to get to doesn't show up at all. If I go to the legacy display, Sometimes it will show the correct information (with a decent ping), but when I try to join, the ping goes up to 2000 and it says that the server didn't respond. I'm pretty sure that other people can get on the server, and Gmod is on my firewall.

I'll try some other stuff and see if I can't fix it.

Must be a ping issue, a ping means that you are connecting a server far away from your location. Maybe your computer was trying it's hardest to connect to that server but then today it stopped working hard. My suggestion is to choose another server since some will be far away from your PC's location.

This issue has been happening for years. Internet providers are not really allowing you to ping over a certain amount these days so most servers don't show up.

For example my provider "Mediacom" only allow up to 7k Requests per 10 seconds. So I only load about 6k servers than I used to.
