How do I make items invisible?

I have tried to make items invisible using the good old method as before, but now it doesn't work, is it still possible, or has it just been completely removed?
EDIT: Tried everything involving setting values on the color tool to 255(max) nothing worked out.
EDIT2: I found out that my settings on the color tool were not optimal, I feel like it may have been glitching out, or I am just really stupid, I would say the second one I just said is the one.

Already looked it up, but it was all outdated, tried everything the tutorials said, the color tool still doesn't make the items invisible, I set all values of Red, Green and Blue to 255 like I usually did, and it did nothing, I also tried setting it all the way to black like another tutorial said would work, it wouldn't make it invisible, I am basically saying, the old methods do not work.

I had opacity at 0 before but for some reason it didn't work for all other values other than opacity being at 255, but when I had opacity and 2 other colors at 0, it worked, either way, it is back to working again, I was just a bit confused, because before it would work when opacity was at 0 and everything else was at 255, but now it seems to need only 1 other color at 255, thanks for the help with this. But now I feel a bit stupid for not trying that before.
