Can I increase text size while at high resolutions?

I want to play GMOD at 3840 x 2160 on my laptop, but I have to settle for 2560 x 1440 for one reason - the text at that higher resolution is way too small. I have decent eyesight, but I seriously can't read anything in text chat or the spawn menu or anything of the sort. It's electronic eye torture. If I run it at 2560x1440, then it's readable, but I'd like to run it at a size that doesn't resize my desktop and mess with Discord. Anyone know how I can make the text bigger?

Do you need to play the game at such high res? Graphics aren't good with this game at any res.

it probably isn't worth it... if you can't read the text, you wont notice a difference.

Literally no point playing in 4k, seeing as the game and the engine are a bit too old to be running at such high resolutions. There's no "Simple" solution to this issue, only way to do so is if someone were to make a 4k compatable mod for Garry's Mod or you'd have to figure out how to change the font sizing by fiddling with the game files yourself.

You cannot raise the text scale, lowering your resolution is the only way to fix this problem.

Garry's Mod has such amazing developers that if your Computer is too good, the Game doesn't work as it's supposed to.
